What I learned.
I spent the better part of eight years at PTW Energy as Director of Finance. PTW has one of the largest industrial E&I branch networks in Western Canada, and my most rewarding time was not in the boardroom. It was on the road, driving to branch offices, sitting across the desk from branch managers, and listening to them complain about the ivory tower known as Corporate. That is where I learned the shape of this business. Solhunde is what I built with what I learned.
How I work.
Corporately designed, pushed-down solutions do not work. The branches see them coming and route around them before lunch. I listen first. I diagnose the biggest leak, not the most fashionable problem. The first deliverable is built for your shop, not from a template, and the person who scopes the work is the person who builds it.

Credentials
Chartered Professional Accountant. Fifteen years of progressive finance experience inside Western Canadian energy and industrial services, including senior operating roles at PTW Energy Services, Petrowest Corporation, and Deloitte.
Scholarship recipient at the Alberta Machine Intelligence Institute. Applied AI and machine learning foundation, deepened alongside active client work rather than in place of it.

Off the Clock
Born and raised in Calgary. Happily married to his wife Alida, and a proud father to two children. Summers are for travelling. Winters are for backcountry snowmobiling deep in the Rockies.
Solhunde is Norwegian for “sun dog,” the optical phenomenon that appears on cold Prairie mornings when the sun is refracted by ice crystals high in the atmosphere. A different angle on the same sun.
